We did make the most of our weekend by going back to the Springs and staying with my sister and her husband. We tried to go to Cave of the Winds on Saturday, but the road was closed due to icy conditions, so double 'doh! Third try was a charm and we took Ashleigh sledding in their driveway. She loved it and didn't care what we did, as long as it was with mom and dad. I even strapped on my board for a run down their driveway and over the jump we made, but it really wasn't the same as boarding on 3 feet of powder. Next time...

that's too bad about the trip, I know it would have been awesome. But sitting in the car really stinks so I can totally understand.
We were thinking about trying to meet Jay's relatives in Steamboat over new years, but the hotels are pricey so we're going to skip it. The same relatives are also going to Vail in Feb so hopefully we can make that trip! I really don't want to go another winter in CO without getting to the slopes!
i looks like ashleigh had fun with the sledding alternative...i gave hanna a sled ride around the yard today...i don't know that i'll be going down the hills with her this winter[=), but i hope she'll get a chance soon with daddy...with love, amy
