Happy New Year 2006!

We decided to venture out on New Year's Eve to the Downtown Denver fireworks show (there were 2 shows, one at 9 pm, and another at midnight - bet you can guess which one we went to...). Ashleigh really enjoyed the fireworks and wasn't scared by the loud bangs. It was a warm 50 degrees in downtown Denver, so you could say we were definitely overdressed for the weather, but that's better than the freezing cold weather we usually get on New Years.

After the fireworks, we went back home and had some cheese, crackers, and summer sausage and played some games too. We also had Alaskan king crab legs on New Year's Day, to start our own traditions, which came out really good. As for my own resolutions, I'd say #1 is to worry less. It's impossible to stop worrying, but when worry creeps in, I think of Phillipians 4:6-7 that says:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I also like Matthew 6:25 -
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
